Hi! My name is Latrese Lytle, and I teach Home Economics, Teen Leadership and serve as the dyslexia coordinator in Hamlin High School. All twenty-six years of my teaching career have been in Hamlin, where I also graduated thirty-five years ago. I always thought that when my teachers started teaching the children of their former students, that it was time for them to retire. As this became my situation some eleven years ago, I changed my mind. I realized not only were the teachers younger than I may have thought at the time, but that those were the teachers who provided a sense of continuity and history for the students.
Although my teaching assignments have changed over the years, one thing remains constant. I still love being around students and having the opportunity to influence their lives. My goals for all of my classes are to produce students who reflect the Mission Statement of Hamlin ISD. "To help all Hamlin students learn all they need to know to successfully assume the various roles of a productive American adult." One of my greatest rewards in teaching comes when a former student just stops by to let me know that I made a difference in his/her life. |
